The city encourages residents to choose the voting option that works best for them, as the voting day to elect a mayor, city councillors, and school board trustees is approaching.
Community members can vote by mail, in person on election day, or in advance at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre.

Voting day to elect a mayor, city councillors and school board trustees is fast approaching. It’s time to make your plan to vote. Confirm, update, or add your information to the Voters List online here.
Electors are encouraged to choose the voting option that works best for them:
- Vote by Mail – During the week of Sept. 26, 2022, Vote by Mail kits will be mailed to electors who have registered with the city clerk. Registered kits may also be picked up at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre from Oct. 3 to Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. Completed ballots may be returned by regular mail or delivery to the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre. Apply online on this website.
- Vote in person on election day – Monday, Oct. 24, 2022. Electors will vote at their assigned voting location. Voters will receive a Voter Information Card indicating where to vote. Alternatively, electors can find their voting location on this link. Identification showing your name and qualifying address is required.
- Vote in advance – at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre
Saturday, Oct. 8 – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 12 – 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 15 – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Electors requiring extra assistance are encouraged to use the enhanced accessibility tools available on Advance Vote days.
- Vote by Proxy – Apply to have another elector vote on your behalf. The elector appointing a proxy signs a form which the proxy voter brings to the city clerk for certification. Proxies must be appointed by 4:30 p.m. on Voting Day on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022. Find the application form online here.
- Home Visit Voting – A member of the election team will visit your home during the week of Oct. 17. To apply, complete the Home Visit Voter Application on this website or call the city clerk’s department at 705-759-5388 to register. Applications will be accepted until Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at 4:30 p.m.
