A 92-year-old Guelph woman has now been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm in an incident that left a CTV reporter with serious injuries.
The incident happened on March 1 in Puslinch at the intersection of Brock Road and Maltby Road.
CTV reporter Stephanie Villella was on-scene reporting on an earlier accident when a driver apparently drove into a closed-off section of the road, striking Villella.
Villella, 30, was seriously injured and "rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries."
"As a result of the investigation, a 92-year-old driver from Guelph has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm," OPP Const. Josh Cunningham said in a video tweet Saturday. "This is a tragic reminder of how important it is to follow road closure signage." Cunningham said.
CTV Kitchener said in a news report that Villella is "recovering from her injuries."
