Billed as the Colin James Trio, the revered singer-songwriter and guitar hero is on tour in support of his 2021 release, Open Road.
His latest album features new tunes co-written with musical friends like Colin Linden (Blackie and the Rodeo Kings), Craig Northey (Odds) and Tom Wilson (Junkhouse/Blackie and the Rodeo Kings/Lee Harvey Osmond), as well as newly arranged versions of songs by Albert King, Bob Dylan and others.
Open Road helped James garner his 19th Juno award nomination, this time for Blues Album of the Year.
In 1988, James came onto the scene with his self-titled debut album featuring the hits Voodoo Thing and Five Long Years.
It was the fastest-selling album in Canadian history.
Since that first album, James has been a consistent fixture on the Canadian music scene and hasn’t stopped recording or touring.
With a career that has spanned over 30 years, 19 studio albums, seven Juno Awards, 27 Maple Blues Awards and multi-platinum record sales, James is a Canadian musical treasure.
Tickets for the show are $48.70 plus applicable fees and taxes and are currently available online or at the box office in the Station Mall.
The show is scheduled for Thursday, May 12 at 7 p.m. at the Sault Community Theatre Centre.
