In a tremendous show of generosity and community spirit, SooToday readers helped surpass an ambitious fundraising goal by purchasing 300 care kits for our vulnerable population in Sault Ste. Marie.

The care kits, which include a mix of reusable water bottles, lip balm, body wash, socks and a non-perishable food item, will be distributed by SOYA to those in need.

SOYA assists approximately 500 community members a week who suffer from mental wellness, substance use disorder, homelessness and food insecurity; providing food, clothing, household items, personal hygiene products and resource support.

The $4,500 raised in this fundraiser will greatly assist SOYA in its ongoing efforts to support vulnerable individuals in our community by connecting them to essential items for their health and well-being.

The rapid response to this fundraiser from our community demonstrates an inspiring willingness to come together to help in a time of need.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who purchased a care kit. Your compassion provides hope to those who need it most.
