17-year-old arrested after knife incident on St. Andrews Terrace: police

Police arrested a 17-year-old after it is alleged that he pulled a knife and threatened victims on St. Andrews Terrace last Friday, states a release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

“One victim sustained minor injuries before the accused fled the area,” the release says.

Full text of the news release follows:

On March 26, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged a 17-year-old boy with assault with a weapon.

On March 25, 2022, the accused attended St. Andrews Terrace and an argument ensued with him and three victims. [It is alleged that] he pulled a knife and began swinging it at the victims. One victim sustained minor injuries before the accused fled the area.

Officers located the accused on March 26, 2022, and he was arrested.

He is charged with
    •    Assault with a weapon x2

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 31, 2022.
