On Monday, Sault Police officers charged a 21-year-old man with assault with a weapon and administering a noxious thing after a Nov. 22 incident.
Police allege the man struck a victim in the head twice with a fire extinguisher and sprayed the extinguisher in the victim’s face.
The incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. at a multi-unit residence building in the 0-100 block of Edinburgh Street.
Police said the victim sustained physical injuries and was transported to hospital. “The victim and the accused are known to one another. A warrant was obtained for the accused’s arrest,” police said in a news release on Tuesday.
On Monday, officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of John Street for an unwanted person, where they located and arrested the accused.
Noeh Boyer is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Administer Noxious Thing
- Failure to Attend for Court – As Per Undertaking
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
None of the charges have been proven in court and Boyer is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
