26-year-old man facing assault with a weapon charge

The charges stem from an incident that occurred at a residence on March 18

Police have charged a 26-year-old with assault with a weapon as well as break and enter after investigating an incident on that occurred on March 18.

In a release, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says that "on March 18, 2022, the accused forced his way into the residence of a person known to him and struck the victim several times with a baseball bat. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries."

Thomas Aelick was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged as a result of the investigation.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 30, 2022.
