27-year-old arrested three times in three days, say police

Between June 18 and July 19, police received reports of 10 different break and enters

A 27-year-old has been charged with various offences, including multiple break and enter charges.

On July 18, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged Travis Desrosiers with break and enter. 

The following day, Desrosiers was charged again before being charged for the third-straight day (on July 20) for other break and enter offences.

Police received reports of 10 different break and enters between June 18 and July 19 - one in the 0-100 block of Church Street, four in the 100 block of Church Street, one in 0-100 block of Pim Street, and four in the 700 block of Bay Street.

Police say that an investigation revealed that the suspect, identified by officers as the accused, stole between $1,000 and $2,000 worth of items from the businesses on Church Street and Pim Street on July 12.

Police say the accused also broke into a multi-unit residence building on Bay Street on four different dates, damaging property and rifling through mailboxes and also broke into a multi-unit residence building on Church Street on four different dates, damaging property and stealing money.

Officers initially located and arrested the accused on July 18 on strength of a warrant and they were released on an undertaking before being arrested again on July 19 after another break and enter and again on July 20 while still in custody.

The accused is charged with:

  • break and enter – commit an indictable offence (x6)
  • break and enter – intent to commit an indictable offence (x4)
  • mischief over $5,000
  • mischief under $5,000 (x3)
  • theft from mail
  • failure to comply with probation order (x5)
  • failure to comply with conditions of release order
