Arrest leads to drug possession charges

On June 4, 2020 officers with Patrol Services, Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit arrested 28-year-old Deiter Prarie-Chicken for breach of recognizance.

At 3 a.m. officers observed the accused going in and out of driveways in the area of Amber Rd. and Ashgrove Ave. Officers approached the accused in the area of Bennett Boulevard and learned he was wanted for failing to appear in court.

He was arrested and a subsequent search of the area of arrest the accused was found to be in possession of 9.9 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine. The estimated value of the narcotics seized is $1,485.

He is charged with failing to attend court and possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17, 2020.
