Arrest made after assault victim struck in the head with wrench

One person has been charged with assault with a weapon after police say they struck a victim in the head with a wrench.

The assault took place following an argument at a multi-unit residence on Pim Street yesterday at approximately 6:30 p.m., says a news release from Sault police. Responding officers located the accused, 32-year-old Nathan Haefel-McLea, in the area a short time later.

The victim did not require medial treatment.

Haefel-McLea is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2023 and stands charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation.
