Arrest made after catalytic converter removed from vehicle

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service made an arrest early Sunday morning after officers responded to a call regarding a man removing a catalytic converter from a vehicle in a parking on Great Northern Road.

Police located and arrested Michael Allen, who was in possession of a catalytic converter and reciprocating saw, says a news release.

The 39-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16 and stands charged with:
    •    Mischief under $5,000
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Breach of probation – failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour
