Police have charged Donald Larente after approximately $1,000 worth of items was reported stolen from an Albert Street East residence.
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says that the 39-year-old entered the residence Monday afternoon, but fled when he was spotted by someone inside the home.
He was located by officers a short time later on Abbott Street and arrested.
Larente stands charged with break and enter, and breach of probation. He was held in custody to await a bail hearing.
