Arrest made in Great Northern Road robbery

Police say the suspect hit and attempted to bite an employee when confronted

A theft call on Sunday afternoon has led to robbery and weapons charges against a 42-year-old.

Around 1 p.m., a 911 call was made reporting a theft at a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road.

Police say that the accused attempted to place some items in her bag without paying and hit an employee and attempted to bite them when confronted.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service located the accused and arrested her.

Police say the accused was in possession of pepper spray and a knife when arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Lisa Lund, 42, has been charged with:

  • robbery
  • unauthorized possession of a weapon (x2)
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x2)

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Lund is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
