Arrest made in John St. break-in investigation

Accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 15

Police have charged Paul Firlotte following a break and enter incident that was reported on Saturday afternoon.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the 38-year-old was arrested after officers responded to a call regarding an intruder inside a John Street garage.

Full text of the release follows:

On Oct. 9, 2021 officers with Patrol Services charged 38-year-old Paul Firlotte with break and enter with intent.

Around 1:30 p.m., police were called regarding a man inside a garage in the 600 block of John Street. Upon arrival, the man was gone but officers located a man matching the description nearby. He identified himself as the accused. Further investigation revealed the accused and victim do not know each other and the accused was arrested. No items have been reported missing from the property.

He is charged with break and entering with intent. He was released by way of an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 15, 2021.
