Arrest made in shoplifting incident

Police say the accused took $187 worth of items from a McNabb Street store

Sault Police have arrested Jeffrey McDonald following an incident at a McNabb Street business on Sunday.

A news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service alleges that the 51-year-old took approximately $187 worth of items and made no attempt to pay before leaving the store.

McDonald was detained by store security and held for police.

The accused was held for bail court and stands charged with theft under $5,000, two counts of breach of probation, and three counts of breach of recognizance.
