While the investigation remains ongoing, "no further information will be provided by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service" as the Coroner's Office is now leading the investigation, Sault police said in an update issued this afternoon.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has launched a death investigation after a body was recovered from the St. Marys River in the area of the Bellevue Marina located at the end of Pine Street.
"Around 9:30 a.m., 911 Communicators received a call from concerned citizens about a person in the St. Marys River," says a news release.
A number police and first responders are in the area as the investigation continues.
