On May 27th, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, with the assistance of officers working with the R.I.D.E. program arrested 56-year-old Chester Dziergas of Wellington Street West for an impaired driving related offence.

It is alleged that just after 8:00 p.m. the accused was operating his motor vehicle on Wellington Street West just East of Carmen’s Way while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol. 

The accused was stopped by officers and issued a demand to provide a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device. The sample registered a fail and the accused was subsequently arrested. As a result, the accused was charged with one count of driving with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. He will appear in court on June 26th, 2017.
