Collision on Pim Street leads to impaired driving arrest

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13

After reports of an erratic driver on Pim Street on Oct. 16, Sault Ste. Marie Police arrested 33-year-old Robert Shoesmith.

He was charged with impaired driving -- alcohol and/or drugs and impaired driving -- blood alcohol concentration over 80.

The reported erratic driving led to a collision at the corner of Pim Street and Queen Street East at around 3:44 p.m.

When the vehicle was pulled over, an unidentified woman was in the driver's seat of the car and Shoesmith in the front passenger seat. 

During the investigation police determined Shoesmith had been driving when the collision occurred.

Shoesmith was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13, 2021
