Complaint results in impaired driving charges

Police have charged Jessica Loucks after officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver early Saturday morning on Spring Street.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that following her arrest, she "provided breath sample into an approved device, registering a fail result."

Full text of the news release follows:

On July 10, 2021 officers with Patrol Services charged 27-year-old Jessica Loucks with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs.

Around 1 a.m., officers responded to a call of a possible impaired driver in the 100 block of Spring Street. Upon arrival officers spoke with the accused and developed grounds to believe her ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

She was arrested and later provided breath sample into an approved device, registering a fail result.

She is charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs, and impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration (80+).

She was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 23, 2021.
