Copper wire stolen in break and enter, man charged

On June 15, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32-year-old Thomas Kidder of no fixed address in relation to a break and enter investigation.

It is alleged that on June 13, the accused entered a Hydro compound in the 400 block of Third Line East by cutting the fence. Once inside, the accused is alleged to have stolen approximately $2,500 worth of copper wire and connections from the site. 

It is further alleged that on June 14, 2017 the accused stole a motor vehicle from the 600 block of Second Line West and later abandoned it.

As a result, warrant was requested for the arrest of the accused. He was located by police on June 15 and subsequently arrested. 

The accused has been charged with one count of break and enter, 2 counts of theft under $5,000, 2 counts of possession of stolen property and 5 counts of breach of probation. He will appear in bail court today.
