CRIME OF THE WEEK: Look what happened at Hiawatha

Sault Police say someone cut down mature oak trees and used them in a bonfire

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are looking for the people involved in an act of mischief at Hiawatha Highlands over the Labour Day weekend.

Mature oak trees were cut down and burned, something that has become an ongoing issue in the area — along with the illegal dumping of garbage — all summer.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 705-942-7867 or 1-800-222-8477. People can also click on the “submit a tip” button on the Crime Stoppers website or download the P3 app.
