A 27-year-old has been charged following a disturbance on Parliament Street over the weekend.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 911 call was made reporting a disturbance at a residence in the 500 block of Parliament Street.

When officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrived, an investigation began and police say it "revealed the accused had punched two people known to them, causing minor physical injuries."

Brandon Marandola is charged with two counts of assault.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
