On July 22, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 25-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence investigation. 

It is alleged that just after 9 a.m. on July 22, the accused broke into the residence of his ex-girlfriend and assaulted another male that was located there. 

The accused allegedly assaulted this male by punching him and striking him with an unknown object.  The accused then allegedly threatened to kill the male victim and then grabbed the female victim and pushed her up against a wall.

The accused also allegedly stole an amount of cash belonging to his ex-girlfriend and he left the area. Police were contacted and the accused was located and arrested. He has been charged with;

Two counts of assault,

  • One count of theft under $5,000,
  • One count of assault with a weapon,
  • One count of uttering threats,
  • Three counts of breach of probation,
  • One count of breach of recognizance, and;
  • One count of break and enter.

He was held for bail court.
