An impaired driver carrying 235 grams of cannabis was arrested this week after driving through a stop sign on Henrietta Avenue, Sault police allege.

Officers pulled over the vehicle at around 4 a.m. on July 4 after it went through the stop sign, police say.

The driver provided two breath samples that registered over the legal limit for alcohol, police allege, and a further search of the vehicle turned up the cannabis.

Lucas Noonan, 25, is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
  • Possess Cannabis to Distribute

Noonan was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on August 28, 2023.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Noonan is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
