Driver charged after police find suspected cocaine

A driver is facing charges after being pulled over by police early Saturday morning.

Anishinabek Police Garden River Detachment says its officers with the assistance of Batchewana Police conducted a traffic stop just before 3:30 a.m.

“It was determined the driver had a suspended driver’s licence,” Anishinabek Police alleged in a news release. 

"He was arrested and officers located 3.5g of suspected cocaine.”

Lucas Torrance, 36, of Sault Ste. Marie, has been charged with possession of a schedule I substance and driving while under suspension.
