Lincoln Louttit, corporate communications manager with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, told SooToday that a 40-year-old woman has been charged in relation to yesterday's crash at the intersection of Pine Street and Second Line East.

"A white SUV travelling northbound on Pine Street failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Second Line East and struck a blue SUV travelling eastbound on Second Line East," Louttit said in an email.

"As a result of the collision the blue SUV rolled onto the roof," he explained. "Each vehicle only had one occupant. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and did not suffer physical injuries."

The driver of the white SUV stands charged with fail to stop at a red light under the Highway Traffic Act.
