Driver charged with impaired after vehicles hit on Chambers Ave.

In a news release issued today, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service reports that Jordan Pavoni faces impaired driving charges after officers responded to Chambers Avenue early Saturday morning.

Police say the 31-year-old accused struck two parked vehicles at approximately 3 a.m. while driving in the area.

Full text of the news release follows:  

On March 26, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Jordan Pavoni with operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drugs.

Around 3 a.m., officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking two parked vehicles in the 0-100 block of Chambers Avenue. Upon arrival, officers identified the accused as the person who was driving the vehicle. Officers developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

He was transported to hospital as a precautionary measure following the collision and later provided two samples into an approved device, registering two fail results. He was arrested.

He is charged with:
    •    Operation while impaired - alcohol and/or drug
    •    Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80+)
    •    Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on April 25, 2022.
