Driver fled Pine and Wellington collision scene: Sault Police

Sault Police are searching for a driver who was involved in a collision at the intersection of Pine Street and Wellington Street East Saturday evening.

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service communications manager Lincoln Louttit told SooToday that officers responded to the scene after a Toyota sedan turned in front of a GMC pickup truck and the two vehicles collided.

The pickup truck struck a residence in the 1200 block of Wellington East as a result.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

Police say the driver of the sedan fled the scene, and a canine track was conducted with negative results.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
