Early-morning break and enter leads to various charges

The individual has been charged with break and enter as well as mischief, among other charges

A call to a business in the 0-100 block of Foster Drive this morning means multiple charges for a 21-year-old.

Around 5 a.m., officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service's Patrol Services unity responded to a report of a break and enter.

When the officers arrived, an investigation determined that two bicycles and some other property had been taken.

Around 20 minutes later, police say that officers found someone with two bicycles in the 100 block of Spring Street and the person was later identified as the accused.

Police say the person ran and was arrested after a short foot pursuit and during a search, was found to be in possession of property reported stolen from the business and break-in tools.

Shawn Seymour has been charged with:

  • breaking, entering and committing
  • possession of break-in instruments
  • mischief under $5,000
  • resisting or obstructing a peace officer
  • probation order: non-compliance (x2)
