Early-morning call leads to sexual assault, indecent act charges

The accused is also facing a forcible confinement charge

A call to a home on Grace Street shortly before 4 a.m. today has led to multuple charges, including sexual assault and indecent act, for a 39-year-old from the Sault.

Police responded to a call of an unwanted person at a residence in the 0-100 block of Grace Street.

When officers arrived, police say the accused was located and exposing himself. While being approached by the officers, police also say that the accused tried to enter the residence.

Police say the accused also resisted while being arrested and that further investigation revealed that the accused had "touched a victim for a sexual purpose and restrained them from leaving."

Brent Garson has been charged with:

  • sexual assault
  • indecent act
  • forcible confinement
  • trespassing at night
  • break and enter (x2)
  • mischief under $5,000
  • resist peace officer
  • fail to comply with conditions of release order
