East Algoma OPP looking for stolen side-by-side

The side-by-side was taken along with some power tools and other items

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the theft of a Polaris side-by-side from a property in Plummer Additional Township, east of Sault Ste. Marie.

The side-by-side, a 2011 Polaris blue/white in colour, was reported stolen shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 28.

Police say the side-by-side was seen leaving the property at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The complainant supplied video footage of a silver Chevrolet Cobalt entering the property at 10:51 a.m. and leaving 13 minutes later. The side-by-side was then seen leaving at 11:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, police saw a sea container with the doors open and a padlock removed. Items taken from the container include:

  • Milwaukee power tools (estimated value $350)
  • Chains (estimated value $300)
  • Weed Wacker (estimated value $200)
  • Still Chainsaw (estimated value $300)
  • Two Husqvarna Chainsaws 60 CC (estimated $1,000)

Police followed the side-by-side tracks toward Gordon Lake that led to a residence along Highway 17 in Desbarats though the side-by-side was not found and is still missing.
