Eric Mearow, one of three men convicted of manslaughter in the death and dismemberment of Wesley Hallam in 2011, was arrested on Sept. 20 and charged with mischief.

The 38-year-old, who is incarcerated at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre (ATRC) on assault charges laid earlier this year, "had a confrontation with a staff member and proceeded to damage property at the ATRC," says a news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

Police did not say what property was damaged.

Officers attended the ATRC and charged Mearow with mischief over $5,000.
