A 35-year-old is facing drug trafficking charges after police pulled over a car on MacDonald Avenue and found suspected fentanyl, meth, cocaine and Percocet pills worth a combined $12,500.

Police say they stopped the car near Poplar Aveune, at around 5:30 p.m. on April 28, because the vehicle had an expired licence plate permit. The person in the passenger seat was later identified as a wanted individual.

A further search of the accused uncovered the illicit drugs, police say.

Brittany Mattanini faces the following charges:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x4
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Mattanini was held in custody pending an appearance in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
