A heavy police presence was reported today in the area of Pine and McNabb Streets.

Lincoln Louttit, manager of corporate communications for the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, told SooToday the activity was due to an ongoing investigation.

No arrests were made, he said, and there is no concern for public safety.

Meanwhile, F.H. Clergue Public School principal Jan Edwards informed parents of the situation occurring in the neighbourhood, stating, “For reasons of safety, an immediate decision was made to keep students indoors during the lunch hour while we investigated the situation.”

Police informed school officials that there was no imminent danger and they could proceed with normal school operations.
