Break & Enter at Algoma Business Computers
At approx. 2:30 am this morning the Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to an alarm at Algoma Business Computers, 427 Trunk Rd. Upon arrival officers discovered that the premises had been entered and a quantity of electronic equipment was stolen. Patrol officers with assistance of the Canine Unit followed the tracks of the suspects and subsequently arrested three males. The suspects had attempted to leave the area by calling a cab but the alert police work of patrol officers resulted in the cab being stopped and the suspects being arrested.
Travis Marshall, age 19, of 370 Elizabeth St. and a 17-year-old male are each charged with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. The third male, Nicholas Manning (alias Solomon), 18 years of age, of 424 Albert St. E. is charged with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of escape custody. All three will be appearing in bail court today at 10:00 am.
Assault Charges
A 62-year-old male was arrested by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service yesterday evening after he allegedly assaulted his wife. The complainant called police after she was pushed and shoved by her husband. At the time of this offence the accused was on a probation order release to keep the peace and not to molest or harass his wife. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of the assault. This incident took place in the central part of the city.
Arrested on Outstanding Warrants of Assault & Threatening
Yesterday evening at approx. 7:40 pm the Anishinabek Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male on outstanding warrants held by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service. It is alleged that the accused male assaulted his ex-common-law wife and then threatened to kill her and their child. The incident occurred in January 2006. The accused will be appearing in bail court today.
City Police were called to investigate three reports of mischief yesterday.
A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Glasgow Ave was damaged. Damage type not mentioned).
Unknown persons damaged a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Patrick St by keying the vehicle.
The Capri Beauty Salon located at 145 Gore St. had two large windows smashed. This incident was reported at approx. 5:00 am.
Looking for Witnesses
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday April 11th at around 3:30pm at the intersection of Wellington St.E and Bruce St. The collision involved a Sault Ste Marie Police vehicle and a green four door Buick.
