Domestic Assault
On Thursday afternoon at approximately 5:15pm a 37 year old male was arrested for a domestic related assault. The incident is alleged to have taken place in the City’s west end in November of last year. The accused male will appear in court on May 22nd at 9:30am.

Break and Enters/Other Property Crimes: (Thefts, Mischief Reports, etc.):
Police responded to a break and enter call in the area of Creery Avenue. Entry was gained between the hours of 10:30am and 11:30am. Jewelry, computer equipment and a brief case were taken.
A vehicle was entered in the 60 block of Trelawne Avenue overnight. A wallet was taken.
A vehicle was entered in the 100 block of Johnson Avenue overnight. Loose change taken.

Police Seek Second Male for Robbery
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a second male, believed to be responsible for the armed robbery at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy on April 18th, 2013. 42 year old Christopher Donald Mitchell is currently wanted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for one count of robbery with a firearm and one count of assault with a weapon. Please do not attempt to approach this male. Anyone having information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service immediately.
Police arrest male for Medicine Shoppe Robbery
Just before 8:00 a.m. on the 18th of April, the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy located at 59 Great Northern Road was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect, who was armed with what was described as a long barrelled handgun, poured gasoline on the victim and demanded entry into the pharmacy. Officers with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service continued the investigation through the evening. Officers received information that lead them to 154 Albert Street East unit #3, the residence 41 Year old Shawn Simpson. Mr. Simpson was taken into custody and charged with one count of Robbery with a firearm and assault with a weapon in relation to the incident at the Medicine Shoppe. A search warrant was executed and the accused was found to be in possession of 2 knives that open with centrifugal force (flick knives), 100 seroquel pills, 17 clonazepam pills, 3 codeine pills, and a small amount of marihuana. Mr. Simpson is additionally charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance and 2 counts of unauthorized possession under the Food and Drug Act. He will be appearing in bail court today.
