On the 1st August 2014, officers with the Espanola O.P.P. transported a male to Sault Ste. Marie from Manitoulin Island who was wanted on outstanding warrants. Michael Leslie Hodgson (age 27) was arrested by Wikwemikong Reserve Police for breach of probation x2. He will be appearing in bail court in Sault Ste. Marie on the 5 August 2014 at 10 a.m.
On July 31, 2014 patrol officers attended to a driving complaint in the downtown area. The vehicle that had been described was located and being operated by 50-year-old Shane Cottrell (aka Sharp). The vehicle struck two other vehicles while entering a parking lot. A short investigation revealed the driver to be in an intoxicated state and the vehicle that he was driving had been taken without the owner’s consent. As a result, Shane Cottrell has been charged with take motor vehicle without consent and care and control while ability is impaired. He will appear in court on August 25, 2014.
