Police Strike Out

On Wednesday evening it could be said that the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service struck out. Since 1998 officers from Community Services and various other sections of the Service have volunteered an evening of their time to play a baseball game against the Community Living Algoma (CLA) TAPS baseball team. The CLA TAPS have managed to win this ballgame every year. This year the officers from Community Services decided to recruit several members from the Emergency Services Unit to assist them in hopefully winning the game this year. After all, these members are in top physical shape and work out regularly. Needless to say, the CLA TAPS team managed to out hit, out run, out walk and out wheel the City Police again. We have included a picture of Cst. Derek McFarlane being taken out at home plate by Doris Hughes, the back catcher for the CLA TAPS team. In the true spirit of team man ship the City Police would like to congratulate CLA TAPS on their 8 consecutive win.
