Long Weekend Safety Tips

Another long weekend is upon us.  The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like everyone to enjoy the long weekend and be safe.

If you are going away, make sure someone is looking after your house. Have a trusted neighbor check on your house daily.

Leave lights on timers and make sure any flyers or papers are not left in the mailbox. Don’t be afraid to call the police to report any suspicious activity.

If you are going to be driving make sure you obey the rules of the road. Officers across the Province will be out in force keeping our roads safe.

Don’t drink and drive. This includes operating a vehicle, ATV or water craft.

If you spend the day on the water, supervise children closely.  Ensure they are wearing proper fitting life jackets while boating.

Have a safe and crime free weekend.
