Robbery at Local Gas Bar
At approx. 12:55 AM this morning a lone male entered the Esso Gas Bar located at Trunk Rd and Wellington St. and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk. The suspect then fled the store going west towards Elizabeth St. A search of the area by the City Police resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Timothy Collings, of 211 Pine St. Mr. Collings is charged with Robbery and Wearing a Disguise While Committing an Offence. It is alleged that at the time of the robbery Mr. Collings was carrying a stick and wearing a hood. Arresting Officers located cash and cigarettes on the accused at the time of his arrest. Mr. Collings will be attending Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Male Charged with Assault
At approx 9:00 PM last night City Police arrested a 45 year old male and charged him with 2 counts of assault. The allegations against the accused are that he threw a drink at a female and then pinned her against a wall with her arms behind her back. The victim and accused are known to each other. The accused will be appearing in bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Break and Enters
City Police are investigating two reports of break and enters. One was to the soccer field storage building at 2nd Line E. and Old Garden River Rd. It is not known at this time what if anything was stolen.
The second entry took place at approx. 3:55 AM this morning in the 100 block of Birkshire Pl. Two males were seen fleeing from this break and enter. Anyone having information on either of these two offences is asked to call Crimestoppers or the City Police Detective Office.
Culprits entered a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Cambridge Pl. overnight and stole several C.D.s and sunglasses.
