On February 25, 2016 city police responded to a shoplifting call at a local west end grocery store. Loss prevention officers apprehended the accused after a foot pursuit and recovered the stolen goods. Police arrived and arrested the accused Daniel Joseph Murphy, age 25 for theft under $5,000 dollars. A check of the accused was done and it was found that the accused was on two probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior.
Police also found that the accused was arrested for theft under $5,000 dollars on February 24, 2016 and released. The accused is scheduled to appear in bail court on February 26, 2016 at 10 a.m.
On February 25, 2016 city police responded to a call in the west end of the city regarding a male allegedly kicking over garbage cans and causing a disturbance. Police located the accused on Wallace Terrace. The accused was allegedly in an intoxicated state and when officers went to arrest the accused the accused attempted to punch one of the officers on two occasions. The accused resisted the arrest but was finally handcuffed and brought to the police station. A search of the accused was done and prescription drugs were found on his person. The accused stands charged with 3 counts of possession of controlled substance, assault police and resist arrest. The accused Robert Allan Johnson, age 48, is scheduled to appear in bail court on February 26, 2016 at 10 a.m.
On February 26, 2016 city police responded to an assault call in the area of Pim Street. Information led police to arresting the accused in the Queen Street East area for assault. It is alleged that the accused was leaving a parking area walking and was allegedly struck by a vehicle. The accused allegedly approached the driver of the vehicle and punched the victim in the face. The accused Donald Kilwoo Burns is scheduled to appear in court on April 4, 2016 at 9 a.m.
