Transport Trailer Rolled On Black Road
Last evening around 6:50 pm a transport trailer operated by Gerald Dupont of Montreal was traveling southbound on Black Road approaching Trunk Road. The transport attempted to turn left, ended up losing control and rolled onto its side. No one was injured in the incident. Both eastbound lanes of traffic and one westbound lane of traffic were closed down to allow for the righting of the transport. The load on the transport did not break free and it does not appear that it shifted. Damage to the transport is described a moderate. Patrol Services is working jointly with the Ministry of Transportation in regards to this incident. The investigation is continuing.
Stopped For Running A Stop Sign And Got Busted For Drugs
Around 4 am yesterday morning Patrol Officers stopped a pickup truck in the downtown area after it failed to stop for a stop sign at Hudson Street and Cathcart Street. When officers were speaking with the 2 male occupants they noted an open bottle of liquor in the vehicle. As a result the officers started to search the vehicle. One of the males attempted to stop the officers from searching the vehicle as was subsequently arrested.
Officers located approximately 30 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $3,000. Officers also located a canister of mace, a quantity of money and some drug paraphernalia.
26-year old Darrell Boissoneau of 609-627 MacDonald Avenue has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, and one count of unauthorized weapon.
23-year old Henry Cadreau of 28 Hughes Street has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, one count of obstruct police and one count of possession of an unauthorized weapon. Both males will appear in bail court this morning.
Youth To Appear In Bail Court This Morning
A 16-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested just after 8 pm last night. The youth has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of resist arrest and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 31st of January the accused broke into an address in the 800 block of Queen Street East and stole a watch, a bottle of liquor, some money as well as some electronics. When the youth was arrested last night it is alleged that the youth resisted arrested while being handcuffed and attempted to swing an elbow at the officers. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.
14-Year Old Charge With Sexual Assault
A 14-year old youth will also appear in bail court this morning after being arrested last night. The youth has been charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference, one count of incest, one count of invitation to sexual touching, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of child pornography. It is alleged that between the 1st of January and the 31st of December 2005 the accused committed these acts on an immediate family member. The youth will appear in bail court this morning.
Teens Caught In Stolen Van
Yesterday at 12:30 pm City Police arrested a 14-year old youth and a 15-year old youth and charged them each with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the two accused persons were in a van, which had been stolen earlier in the day from an address in the 100 block of Boston Avenue. Both youths will appear in court on March 7th.
30-Year Old Male Assaults Child
Officers from Investigation Services arrested a 30-year old male yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 28th of January the accused assaulted his 2 ½ year old child by slapping on the buttocks and smearing feces on the childs face. The male will appear in court on March 6th. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Disturbance
31-year old Michael Greganti of 2345 Base Line was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of cause a disturbance by fighting and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 19th of January the accused caused a disturbance at a downtown drinking establishment by fighting with other patrons in the bar. The accused attended at the City Police Station yesterday and was arrested. The accused will appear in court on March 6th.
