Accused entered an east end grocery store and selected just over $700 worth of meat and dairy products

On Jan. 12, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29-year-old Marc Major of Taskar Drive  in relation to a theft from a local grocery store.

It is alleged that at 1:20 p.m. the accused entered an East End grocery store and selected just over $700 worth of meat and dairy products.  The accused then left the store without paying for the items and was apprehended by store security.

Officers attended and the accused was charged with 1 count of theft under $5,000. He will appear in court on Feb. 13, 2017.

On Jan. 12, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21-year-old Starla Hess of Elgin Street for theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that Jan. 12, the accused entered a department store downtown and selected just over $100 worth of clothing. The accused concealed the items on her person and left the store without paying for them.

The accused was apprehended by store security and police were contacted. She was charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and attended bail court today.
