Evening news: A 22-year-old female was charged with one count of Assault and three counts of Breach of Probation.

Evening news:

A 22-year-old female was charged with one count of Assault and three counts of Breach of Probation. It is alleged that on January 23, 2014 while being at a group home (which the accused is a resident of) in the east end, the accused assaulted a staff member. She was also on probation at the time to keep the peace and not to harass any staff member. She is now scheduled to appear in Bail Court on January 26, 2014.

A 20-year-old female was arrested on a warrant for Fail to Appear Court on a Breach of Probation charge. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on January 28, 2013 of a charge of Breach of Probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  She is now scheduled to appear in Court on February 24, 2014.

Morning news:

On January 23, 2014 at 7:30 p.m., Edward Martel, age 50 of Albert St. East turned himself in at the Police Station. He was wanted for failing to attend court. Officers arrested and charged him with this offence. He will appear in court on February 24.

On January 23, 2014 patrol officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service met police officers from the Ontario Provincial Police in Sudbury to continue the arrest of Justin Odo, 24 of no fixed address. Officers from the OPP had arrested Odo in Orillia, Ontario on outstanding warrants from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service stemming from a break and enter in 2012 and two theft charges in 2013. Odo was transported to Sault Ste. Marie for bail court on January 24.

On January 23, 2014 at 9:30 p.m., patrol officers were called to Cash and Carry at 173 Trelawne Avenue for a break and enter. Upon the officers arrival they found two persons running from the business. After a short foot chase the Officers arrested a 17-year-old youth and a 20-year-old male. Both persons were charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property and Mischief. The young person was on release conditions not to be with the 20 year old male. The youth was additionally charged with Breach of his Undertaking. Cigarettes taken from the business were recovered. Both accused will appear in court on January 24, 2014.

On January 24, 2014 at 12:50 a.m., patrol officers were called to an east end residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers found a 38-year-old male being hidden in the residence. Officers learned the male was on probation with conditions not to communicate or associate with an adult female who was hiding him in the residence from the Police. The male was arrested and charged with two counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on January 24. The female was charged with Obstructing Police and will appear in court on February 24.
