Assault
A 34-year-old male has been charged with assaulting his common-law wife. City Police responded to a call of a domestic disturbance earlier this morning at a west end residence. The male did commit an assault on the victim after engaging in a heated argument then biting the female on her left cheek. The accused was arrested by officers and is to appear in court this morning. The victim in this incident did not require any medical attention.
Break & Enter At Gord Royal Insrance
Just before 4am this morning City Police responded to an alarm at 118 March Street also known as Gord Royal Insurance. Upon arrival Police observed a back window to be smashed out. Norpro security advised they had observed one male person still in the building. Upon searching the building City Police found 18-year-old Ernest John Solomon of 826 Second Line East hiding in the basement. The accused has been charged with 1 count of Break and Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence and 1 count of resist arrest. He will be appearing in bail court today.

Other break and enters, which occurred in the last 24 hours.
In the 200 block of Huron street culprits broke into a residence and took a Play Station and games to go with it.
In the100 block of James Street culprits broke in and stole clothing.
In the 700 block of Old Goulais Bay Road thieves broke in and stole 6-8 cases of beer, some alcohol, DVD’s and a cell phone.
An attempt break and enter occurred in the 1000 block of Queen street east. Their culprits attempted to break in by prying a window with a sharp tool. No entry was gained.
Shoplifting At Rome's
On the 20th of July 35-year-old Bonnie Fantham of 185 McQueen road was caught shoplifting at Romes Independent Grocery store. The Accused attended at the store and placed numerous items totaling over $400 into a grocery cart. She then left the store with the cart without making any attempt to pay for the items. Store security stopped her just outside the store and apprehended her. City Police responded and charged her with 1 count of Theft Under $5000. She is to appear in court on the 21 of August 2006.
Assault At Mac's Mart
On the 19th of July just after 2 am, 20-year-old Tyson Edward Souliere assaulted a male who was not known to him in the parking lot of Mac’s Mart at 381 McNabb Street. The accused punched the victim in the head causing him to have a swollen left eye. It is unknown what provoked this incident. The accused then left the area in a cab. The victim and his friends then left the area and began walking on McNabb when the accused appeared again in cab with friends and assaulted a second male, this one was known to him. The accused punched the victim numerous times causing him to also have a swollen left eye. City police were called and a report was made.
On the 20 of July just before 2pm the accused Tyson Souliere of 125 Hiawatha Drive Garden River, turned himself into to the police station. He has been charged with 2 counts of assault and will be appearing in court on the 21 of August 2006.
