Break And Enter On Hillside Dr

Yesterday evening, at approx. 7:50 PM City Police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Hillside Dr. in regards to a break and enter. Unknown person(s) gained entry into the residence by kicking in the side door. Nothing has been reported stolen at this time. It is believed that this was a daytime entry. Anyone having seen any suspicious persons in the area is asked to call City Police or Crimestoppers.

Vehicle Mischeif

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service was again kept busy investigating mischief and thefts from vehicles. Police were called to 10 locations for mischief. The culprits are stealing small amounts of change and causing 100’s of dollars in damages. In one incident the culprits caused an estimated $ 1,000.00 damage to steal a package of cigarettes. The locations of the offences were:

1. 100 block of Beaumont Ave
2. 100 and 200 blocks of bay St.
3. 100 block of Tancred St.
4. 100 block of Chapple Ave.
5. 200 block of St. George’s Ave. (2 incidents)
6. 500 and 600 blocks of Trunk Rd.
7. 100 block of Boehmer Ave.

Male Arrested For Making Death Threat

Last night at approx. 10:00 PM City Police arrested a 25-year-old male and charged him with Threatening Death. It is alleged that the accused threatened to kill his ex-common-law spouse after becoming involved in an argument with her. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
