In the early morning hours of March 20, 2015 a west end resident observed a suspicious vehicle on his property. When the resident confronted the male and female occupants they fled from the area.

In the early morning hours of March 20, 2015 a west end resident observed a suspicious vehicle on his property. When the resident confronted the male and female occupants they fled from the area. The resident followed the vehicle and contacted police. The vehicle was followed to Camp Korah at the top of Goulais Avenue where the two accused fled from the vehicle on foot. Police set up containment of the area and with the assistance of the K-9 unit the two occupants where located after a lengthy track. When located both the male and female were suffering from hyperthermia after crawling in the snow. The male accused required medical attention.

Investigation found that while at the west end residence the two stole a gas can and gas, were in possession of a stolen 16” machete,  and were in possession of tools used to assist them in break and enters. The two accused are on undertakings with conditions that the two were not allowed to communicate with each other.

Charged with breach of undertaking, trespass at night, theft, possession of house breaking tools and two counts of possession of stolen property are 24 year old Lorraine Patricia Roach of Albert Street East and 36 year old Robbie Joseph Delorme of Borron Avenue. Delorme is also charged with possession of ammunition in contravention to a court order.

Delorme and Roach attended bail court on March 20, 2015.

On the 20th of March 2015 at 0345hrs, police were flagged down by a male on Albert Street West. Upon speaking with this male it was discovered that he had been jumped by three males in an alley way behind Gore Street. The victim advised that he was walking through the alley way towards Albert Street East when he was approached by three males. The first suspect struck him with his forearm knocking him to the ground; the two other suspects held a knife to the side of his neck while he was on the ground and searched his pockets. Nothing was taken from the victim. The victim fought back and eventually knocked the knife from the hand of one of the suspects. While doing so he did get a small cut on his left upper wrist. The three suspects fled the area on foot.

The suspects are described as follows; the first male is native 5'9" husky build wearing a black leather jacket and a ball cap, the second male was native  5'9" average build wearing a red hoody and the third suspect was described as being caucasian 5'9 average build, no clothing description.

Sometime between March 12 and March 19, 2015, a garage was broken into in the 200 block of Dryden Avenue. Liquor and beer were reported stolen.

On the evening of March 19, 2015, patrol officers responded to a report of a male and female arguing in the city’s west end.  Investigation by officers resulted in the arrest of a 49-year-old male. It is alleged he assaulted his female partner. He will be appearing in court March 20, 2015.

On the evening of March 19, 2015, officers with the Joint Forces Drug Enforcement Unit were conducting an investigation in the central part of the city in regards to drug trafficking. As a result of that investigation a traffic stop was conducted and 32-year-old Krista MEROLA of Green Lane, Thessalon was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. It is alleged that Merola was in possession of Fentanyl, Suboxone, Oxycodone, and Cannabis. At the time of the arrest the accused was found to be breaching a probation order with conditions she not possess non-prescribed drugs or drug paraphernalia. She will be appearing in court March 20, 2015.

In the early morning hours of March 20, 2015, patrol officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Devon Road in the city’s west end. The vehicle had struck a snowbank. Officers located the driver of the vehicle and investigation found his ability to operate his motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. As a result of the investigation 36-year-old Eric BROWN of Hampton Road was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while having more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100ml of blood (over .80). He will be appearing in court April 20, 2015.
