51 year old James Smitham of 22 Elmwood was charged with shoplifting from Metro in the Market Mall last evening. It is alleged he left the store without paying for over $80.00 in meat. Upon running a check on Mr. Smitham, it was learned he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for fingerprints on February 3rd 2014. He will be appearing in Provincial Court April 7th.
A 19 year old male was arrested by City Police officers late yesterday afternoon and charged with a domestic related assault. It is alleged the accused repeatedly hit, pushed and spat on his female common-law. He will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning.
A 51 year old male was arrested early this morning in a domestic incident which resulted in him being charged with assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged he and his common-law began arguing at their residence and the accused slapped the victim and then began throwing empty beer bottles at her. He will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning as well.
In yet another domestic incident, a 54 year old male was also arrested and charged with assault overnight. In this case, the accused grabbed the female victim by her arm and punched her in the head area. This took place at the accused’s residence. He will be going to Bail Court as well.
2 break ins were reported to Police which occurred in the Pozzebon Cr. area. In one, the side door was kicked in and alcohol and a computer were stolen. In the other, the front door was kicked in and cash and an IPad were stolen.
