Afternoon news: A church in the Pentagon Blvd. area of the city was vandalized sometime overnight when unknown persons spray painted graffiti on the back of the building. * * * A vehicle in the Westgate Dr.

Afternoon news:

A church in the Pentagon Blvd. area of the city was vandalized sometime overnight when unknown persons spray painted graffiti on the back of the building.

A vehicle in the Westgate Dr. area of the city was entered overnight and thieves made off with a Sirius satellite stereo and a small amount of loose change.

Morning news:

A residence in the 200 block of Second Line West was reported broken into sometime between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm last evening.  It is reported that the house was ransacked and a flat screen television was stolen.

A vehicle that was parked in the 100 block of Fauquier Avenue had a window smashed and a purse stolen from inside.

Another purse was reported stolen from an establishment in the 700 block of Queen Street East.  In this case a male in his 20’s, approximately 5’7” wearing a black ball cap backwards and grey shirt and sweat pants, walked in and took the purse then left and rode away on a bicycle.

Police received a call to attend at a residence in the 700 block of Second Line West.  Upon arrival they discovered that one of the residents of the home had 4 seedling marijuana plants growing.  A 40 year old male was arrested.  While conducting the investigation the male’s wife disclosed that she had been assaulted and sexually assaulted by him.  It is alleged that the male assaulted the victim by slapping her and sexually assaulted her by forcing her to continue with sexual acts despite her telling him she didn’t want to.  He will be appearing in bail court charged with possession of narcotics, producing narcotics, assault and sexual assault.

On May 2nd   Police were called to a residence by a mother who was having difficulties with her 14 year old son.  When dealing with the youth police discovered that he was in possession of a small quantity of marijuana.  He will be appearing in court on June 4th.
