Evening news:
A 50 year old male was arrested this afternoon in a domestic related offence. The male was located in a downtown apartment with the victim. The accused is alleged to have violated his probation by being in the company of the victim while being intoxicated and failing to keep the peace and being of good behaviour. The accused will appear in bail court on Monday November 4 at 10:00 a.m.
Male wanted for attempted murder in police custody
On Sunday October 20th, 2013 at approximately 2:50am police were called to the Roosevelt Hotel at 306 Korah Road regarding an altercation involving gun shots in the bar area. During the altercation a male victim received a gunshot wound to the abdomen. As a result investigators with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service obtained a warrant of arrest for 35 year old Alexander Benjamin McKenna.
On November 1st, 2013 at 9:00 am Alexander McKenna of 282 Spadina Ave. attended at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services building and turned himself in to police. McKenna was arrested and charged with the following offences.
- Attempt Murder with a firearm
- Pointing a firearm (x3)
- Possession of weapon dangerous to the public
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Use firearm during commission of an offence
- Breach of prohibition order
- Assault with a weapon
- Commission of an offence for a criminal organization
Alexander McKenna will remain in custody pending a bail hearing Monday November 4th, 2013.

Morning News
On October 31, 2013 officers attended at a west end residence and arrested a male age 60. It is alleged that between January 1, 2013 and September 30, 2013 the accused committed several sex related offences against a young person victim. Detectives from Investigation Service arrested the accused for the following charges: sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation, making sexually explicit material available to a child and indecent act. The accused will appear in bail court on November 1, 2013 at 10:00am.
On October 31, 2013 the accused James Charles Bolan age 24 was found at a residence in the 70 block of Allard Street. There were outstanding warrants for failing to attend court, failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance. The accused failed to attend court on the original charges of theft under and breach of probation X 2. A bench warrant was issued at that time. The accused will appear in bail court November 1, 2013 at 10:00 am.
